About Dr Bhumija

Dr. Bhumija Dipti Panchal is a practicing relational artist from India engaged with projects related to a holistic approach and learning from every positive aspect of life. She believes that her inner force works as an inspirational force for her dynamic works. Her recent works involve the integration of critical thinking and creative practice which was displayed at Hampstead School of Arts, London showcasing her experiments with soft materials, light, and sound. She firmly believes that one can keep learning from the surrounding by being a student and molding oneself accordingly as Universe has immense dynamics hidden within itself to teach.

Dr. Bhumija supports the National Cancer Society, Malaysia with her hand-painted greeting cards and shares the profits for benefit of the needy. Her involvement with the organization’s fundraising and cancer awareness programs inspired her in framing the hand painting-based illustrative fictional story highlighting the significance of healthy life.

Dr. Bhumija supports the idea of expansion and development.      Expansion of anything is required but according to the laws of the nature. Changes occurred when dinosaur were existed ….changes will occur if humans will not be there…but why should we invite destruction before time we should go with the flow of time not against it.

Art and Science both have immense power to heal, let’s use them positively.

 

‘The Volcano’ is a work for which I tried to go through the same thing like actual volcano - destruction with force and then the flowing colours leaving behind the ash …not beautiful but fertile… mountains, plateaus, and plains, which subsequently eroded and weathered into majestic landscapes and formed fertile soils. My objectives in the process of the making of the work looked at the ways in which organic materials I have used.

BLOOM-2 . My monoprints ‘Bloom ‘are a small model of the cosmos where each small dot has got its own individuality and beauty which is created by some unknown force. Each of us and even smallest particle is a part of this cosmos and has own contribution for the balance which is important for this creation. I have also done a ceramic vase based on the same topic and its spiral shape represents the ‘Infinity’ of the cosmos.

Paper sculpture ‘breakthrough’ is based on this concept that how one line fragment differs from two line and when four line fragments are attached to each other what kind of tension they experience because of the slight difference of size, shape and colour and sometimes its really impossible to balance them. But they make beautiful shapes when put together.
